Five Tips to Healthy Hair

If like me, you suffer from dry lackluster locks and are sick of looking at dead dull hair day after day, you might want to take a look at these tips to get you on your way to shiny healthy hair...

1: Avoid dying your hair too much!
Dying your hair regularly really damages hair and can cause it to become brittle and dry, so if you do really want to change your hair, try highlights or low lights, they can be less obvious when they fade out if done in a subtle colour and you can ask your hairdresser to leave the thin top layer of your hair highlight free so it will be less obvious when the roots start to come through. Use colour protecting serum, shampoo or conditioner to keep your colour longer. This'll help your hair stay healthy and you will also have changed your hair colour somewhat!

2: Try not to use heat styling products too often. Curlers and straighteners can also really hurt your hair and if you use them regularly then they can cause your hair to become coarse over time. Instead of constantly using heat styling equipment, try french plaiting your hair after running it through with a hairdryer, leaving it in overnight then taking it out in the morning, you'll get healthier shinier beachy hair, which will hopefully start to become less dry over time.

3: Don't use shampoo that could be doing more harm than good; some shampoos contain ingredients callled Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, these chemicals strip your hair and contribute to making it dry. So steer clear of shampoos with these chemicals listed in the ingredients. I use Elvive Full Restore 5 conditioner, as it doesn't have these chemicals and treats coloured hair whilst replenishing dry and broken hair .

4: Don't brush your hair whilst its still wet! Your hair is a lot weaker when it is wet than when it is dry, and brushing it when you've came straight out of the shower can cause breakage, and can cause even more damage.

5:  Get your hair trimmed often to avoid split ends and maintain healthy hair.
